Budget Acts of 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025

The bill makes immediate, targeted changes to California appropriations across fiscal years 2022–23 through 2025–26. It extends spending authority, reallocates funds, and gives state agencies tools to move money among projects and agencies.

What the law does ​

• Funds hundreds of specified local projects for parks, housing, health care, public safety, education, water, transportation, workforce development, arts, and community facilities.
• Updates Medi-Cal funding and administration, including behavioral-health bridge housing, children’s hearing-aid coverage, county program oversight, and direct support for specified hospitals and crisis-care projects.
• Provides wildfire detection technology, firefighting equipment, training, fire-station, evacuation, and hazardous-waste cleanup funding.
• Funds Aliso Canyon-area heat-resilience, school health-and-safety, building-electrification, and clean-heating projects.
• Authorizes the Department of Finance to transfer Proposition 4 bond appropriations between state entities for joint landscape-scale or multijurisdictional projects.
• Redirects returned prior appropriations to the Cities of Ontario and Azusa and extends selected expenditure and liquidation deadlines.
• Funds World Cup security, family justice centers, DMV REAL ID verification-system development, and redistricting commission costs when required.
