Aging and Disability Resource Connection program

Older adults, caregivers, and people with disabilities can retain access to long-term-services information and assistance during a local partner transition.

What the law does ​

• Bars the California Department of Aging from revoking an ADRC designation solely because an area agency on aging or independent living center loses, ends, suspends, or temporarily cannot fulfill its operator role.
• Allows the remaining partner to run the ADRC alone for up to two years while replacement partner is identified and designated.
• Requires uninterrupted ADRC services during the transition and restoration of joint operation once a qualifying replacement partner is designated.
• Dissolves the ADRC after the extension period unless both local partners agree to continue it, while allowing a longer contract extension when qualified entities are consolidating.
• Takes effect immediately.
