Upper Los Angeles River and Tributaries Working Group: membership: revitalization plan
SB 832 expands and adds ongoing oversight to the Upper Los Angeles River and Tributaries Working Group.
The law gives a Los Angeles City Council district with the most Upper Los Angeles River frontage guaranteed representation and requires regular review of the river revitalization plan.
What the law does
- Raises the working group's maximum membership to 25 appointed representatives.
- Requires one member to represent the Los Angeles City Council district with the greatest number of Upper Los Angeles River miles.
- Requires the working group to meet at least annually to evaluate and report plan-implementation progress to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy.
- Allows the working group to propose plan amendments and requires the conservancy to act on them within 60 days.
- Makes approved amendments effective immediately.
