Public postsecondary education: governing bodies: biography and contact information

The law makes it easier for the public and stakeholders to identify and contact the people who govern CSU, community colleges, and UC. It also encourages board members to weigh input before open-meeting votes.

What the law does ​

• Requires the California State University and California Community Colleges to conspicuously post each governing-board member’s name, short biography, official email address, official telephone number if assigned, and official mailing address.
• Requests the University of California to post the same information for each regent.
• Encourages trustees, community-college board members, and UC regents to consider public and stakeholder input before voting at an open meeting.
